Day 5/5: Thursday, January 9, 2020: San Juan

After last evening, I arose this morning with the ambition of getting back into shape. I got up about 5:45am and went to the fitness center on the 10th deck. There was only one other person in the center at 6:00am when it opened. I got on the treadmill and did 3 km (1.86 mile) at an average of 5.1 km/hr (3.17 mph). My weight was 240# this morning. I restarted taking my Lisinopril yesterday since my evening blood pressure was 153/103. This morning, it was 132/93, much better. I'll stay on the drug until my weight is back down along with my blood pressure.

Last night, we had ordered breakfast to be served in our suite between 7:00am and 7:30am. I got back to the suite just before 7:00am and the food arrived a bit later. It was a nice breakfast compared to the buffet we have had on previous mornings.

Today, we are in San Juan.

We passed by El Moro, San Juan just as I was leaving the fitness center.

On our tail were two other cruise ships. The first one to join us was the Carnival Magic (3,675 guests), the second one to come into port was the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas (5,484 guests). The Allure was the largest cruise ship in the world until displaced by the Horizons of the Seas in 2015.

El Moro is just next to where we are docked. We have no formal excursions booked for San Juan. We plan to just roam around. All aboard is 5:00pm this evening.

There was another Silversea ship at port, the Silver Wind.

The old customs house.

The San Juan gate. The last one still standing.

Yes, there were LARGE iguanas.

As we walked along the fortification walls, we saw numerous cat feeding stations and numerous cats.

Parts of San Juan looked a lot like the French Quarter.

The Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas on the right, the Carnival Magic in the middle and our tiny ship on the left.

After we had walked about 3 miles and still had another 2 miles to go to the Hard Rock, I called an Uber.

We got our Hard Rock tee shirts for the grand kids and then Uber'd back to the pier.
